Robert C. Holub
Professor of German
Dean of the Undergraduate Division

Personal

When he is not attending to the affairs of the dean's office or teaching and researching about German intellectual and literary history, Professor Holub enjoys spending time with his family: his wife Sabine, his two children, Madelaine and Shoshanah, and his mother, Marilyn. He also has a son, Alexei, who is currently a graduate student at Cal Tech in Pasedena.

Professor Holub enjoys ballroom dancing and tries to make room at least two nights a week for lessons and practice. He takes special delight in following local sports, and he is particularly interested in the fate of Cal's football and basketball teams. He tries to view at least one or two films a week, but his taste is quite eclectic. He also enjoys listening to classical music, and plans to resume his subscriptions to the San Francisco opera and the San Francisco symphony, as soon as his children are a bit older.
